Story and Accolades

Originally released in 2008, La Riqueza (Spanish for “The Riches”) was created by Pete Johnson of Tatuaje in collaboration with master blender Don Pepin García at the My Father Cigars factory. After a period of being discontinued, it returned to the market in limited quantities due to continued demand from aficionados who appreciated its old-world aesthetic and flavorful Broadleaf wrapper.

Unlike many other cigars in the Tatuaje portfolio that use Habano or Corojo wrappers, La Riqueza showcases a luxurious Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper—rare for the brand—which lends a darker, more decadent profile. The cigar has been praised for its balance, excellent draw, and long finish, earning a loyal following and multiple high ratings from Cigar Aficionado and Halfwheel during its initial run.

Construction and Craftsmanship

Handmade in Nicaragua, La Riqueza is expertly constructed with a box-pressed shape and traditional triple-cap. The Broadleaf wrapper is toothy and oily, exuding aromas of cocoa and cedar. The Nicaraguan binder and fillers provide a well-structured backbone, with rich combustion and consistent flavor transitions throughout the smoking experience.
