Description:
Fortaleza Tequila Añejo is a richly matured expression that showcases the perfect harmony between traditional craftsmanship and oak aging. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, this tequila is slowly cooked in stone ovens, tahona-crushed, naturally fermented in open-air wooden tanks, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. It is then aged for 18 months in American oak barrels, developing a deep, complex character while maintaining the vibrant essence of agave.

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of butterscotch, caramel, and cooked agave leap from the glass, joined by soft hints of vanilla, citrus peel, and roasted nuts. On the palate, layers of toffee, baking spice, oak, and dried fruit unfold over a smooth, oily texture. The finish is long and luxurious, with lingering warmth and subtle sweet spice.

Distillery History:
Destilería La Fortaleza, founded by Don Cenobio Sauza in the late 1800s, is one of the most historic distilleries in the Tequila Valley. It was revived by his great-great-grandson Guillermo Erickson Sauza, who restored the family’s legacy by continuing to make tequila the traditional way. Each bottle of Fortaleza reflects generations of dedication, heritage, and uncompromising craftsmanship.
